About Tweedbeats
Tweedbeats has been set up to facilitate Tweed owners, syndicates, angling clubs and others with fishing to let (hereafter called "owners") on the Tweed and its tributaries. The intention is that Tweedbeats will be wholly owned eventually by those same people in some form of cooperative association.
In this way, Tweed owners and others will achieve security for their marketing efforts for the long term so that they have not only very significant control of what goes into their own web pages under the Tweedbeats banner, but also at a very reasonable cost, initially free to enter but with a low level annual admin charge.
At the start, there will be no central online booking system, rather it is envisaged that fishing availability will shown and booked via e-mail and telephone direct to the owners, thereby eliminating any commission. As what goes onto individual owners' sites will be largely under their control, it may of course be that some will want to implement some form of online booking on their own sites in due course.
The initial promoters of Tweedbeats see this new site as an additional option for Tweed owners so far as existing independent Tweed marketing sites are concerned, and as such they will have no part to play in any owner's decision to be shown on Tweedbeats as well as those other independent sites. Indeed, in the interests of wider marketing of Tweed fishing, such additional exposure to the market via all Tweed marketing sites on the Internet is to be encouraged.
