You are welcome to stay at Traquair House. There are three spacious double bedrooms, the Pink Room, the Blue Room and the White Room. Run by fishers for fishers Duncan House was built around 1826 and sits on the left bank of the river tweed overlooking the ‘Junction Pool’ famous for the quality of its salmon fishing. There are stunning views of Old Roxburgh and Floors Castle. The town centre is less than 200 metres away. Duncan House is run as a bed and breakfast but the entire house is available for let on a self-catering basis. A warm welcome awaits you, there are open fires in the dining room and snug and wooden shutters in the principal rooms. We are dog friendly and welcome well behaved dogs to Duncan House, we just ask that you pick up after them and keep them off the furniture. Our own dog is a labrador named Susie and we ask you to help her keep to the house rules. We pride ourselves on serving fresh food. Our Victorian house was built in 1851 and is surrounded by a lovely garden with a stunning view of the nearby hills, and is situated on the edge of the historic village of Ayton. The house was built by the foreman in charge of rebuilding Ayton Castle in 1846, after the previous castle burnt to the ground.
