Week beginning 3 August 2020
Right! The report has disappeared from my computer, I’ve hunted through all the wee sneaky places that thing go to but no sign of it. Now trying to remember what happened last Monday is too much for my brain, I can’t remember what I had for dinner last night. The start of the week only produced 1 fish and a seatrout although Jim Worley lost 4 on Tuesday and rose a couple others in the Duddo. Ian landed a 9lb cock fish which we tagged and released at the Iron Gate. Rising water on Wednesday cut their trip short and it did come up fast, jumped a foot in 30 mins. I was on holiday for rest of week so don’t have the details but it looks like 9 fish landed for the week. The good news of the week is the amount of fish that are being seen, the bad news is they don’t seem to want to be caught. I have been hearing reports of lots and lots of grilse showing Friday and Saturday so hopefully by tomorrow they will be in the mood, the weather could be a factor as it is warm, hot even and humid with it, the worry is that some severe thunder storms are forecast and SEPA have just issued a flood alert. With thunder storms they can hit us or completely miss us not an exact science with the cheery weathergirl on the telly. Normal service resumed next week.
